LOUISE WALLACE
My work reflects the notion of home and memory. Home is relaxation, contemplation and the place where personal narrative is created. I believe that everyone has a “sort of” life manual or story according to the different experiences we encounter. Throughout my own work I am interested in looking at my own manual or story and the different experiences and characters that illustrate my personal journey. By analyzing the characters within my story I hope to in turn, learn from from their personal narratives.
This semester I used my photographic and video work to examine the idea of dynamic between Friendships of Teenage Girls. The work is an acknowledgement to the power, wonders and complexities of teen Friendship, while Yet exploring a Sentimental and very personal response to my own nostalgia of youth.
