My work investigates themes in obsolescence and transhumanism in the context of the rapid technological advancement witnessed in the past 30 years. I found these changes both wonderous and also bewildering. As we invest more and more of our lives in newer digital technologies, I am filled with a certain kind of anxiety over our control and what we stand to lose.
Through the use of technologies associated with the 20th century, traditional CRTV’s and video synthesizers, my worries manifest themselves in surreal ghostlike images of people lost amongst the digital noise alongside more surreal generated waveforms that hint at forms of life beyond our current understanding.
